After an incredibly challenging 2020 and 2021, Shifties wanted to raise awareness of the importance for people to talk when they are feeling low and need support. Starting at 12am on the morning of 17th January 2022, the so called most depressing day of the year “Blue Monday”, our Founder Alex Hughes hosted a 24 hour live stream with small business owners, mental health experts and inspiring guests associated with Shifties. We completed challenges, shared stories and offered advice on how to shift to a positive mindset in 2022.

The Speak Up Liveathon aimed to be the antidote to negative thinking on what was expected to be a particularly difficult time this year with many people still struggling with the impact of an extraordinary and incredibly challenging 2020 & 2021 and was focused on tales of resilience and survival – for both businesses and individuals – and explore why good communication and a supportive community is so important. At the same time we hoped to raise £10,000 for the charity CPSL Mind, an organisation devoted to supporting people with mental health concerns, and their families across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and South Lincolnshire.

This event is open to anyone and we encourage you to join the fun by sharing any questions & experiences you have had, supporting others, donating and help us drive a message of community and positivity during this difficult time we are in!

There will also be amazing prizes to be won donated by incredible local businesses within the Shifties Growth Platform Community for anyone that donates to the charity!
